Raising new talents, creating new opportunities
Project Description ~ Checklearn
Checklean is an inclusive and impact-driven program that is dedicated to making talent development and procurement accessible to all within the African tech industry. Its mission is to equip emerging talent with job-ready skills and connect them with real opportunities.
Problem
As Checklearn evolved as a product, its old website no longer reflected what the platform offered.
The old design failed to
Effectively communicate value to sponsors and supporters, limiting engagement and potential partnerships.
Failed to show credibility through strong data on outcomes.
Differentiate the designs for different audiences (students, sponsors, supporters), making it difficult for each group to find relevant information quickly.
Design Solution
After a lot of research and frequent meeting with the client i made sure the redesign of the website was centred around:
~ Clear Messaging – The website was designed to resonate with each audience. Students experienced a modern, visually engaging design, while sponsors received a professional, corporate-focused layout, both aligned with the Checklearn brand.
~ Exploration of Visual Directions- I designed and explored different inspirations for each section of the site to find the right tone. Some sections were clean and professional to build credibility, while others were playful and colorful to engage and energize.
~ Functional Prototypes- Interactive prototypes were created to show the flow, and key interactions across the website.
Outcome
Redesigning Checklearn sharpened the message so that ambitious Africans seeking a future in tech immediately understand the value here. This project pushed me and was quite challenging. it took me out of my comfort zone an made me learn more about ideation in design. I was able to come up with different design elements for different section and it pushed me to become a better designer. All in all the website cam out well and it was able to meet both user and clients needs.
